Yes. A finished basement involves framing, electrical and usually plumbing, and every jurisdiction in the metro requires a permit and inspections for that work. It's built into our bid and our schedule.
Yes. Code requires a proper egress window or door in any basement bedroom so people can get out and firefighters can get in. We cut the opening, set the window and well, and get it inspected.
Longer than a bathroom and shorter than an addition. Inspections happen at several stages, and drywall, ceilings and flooring each need their own time. You get a written schedule with the bid.
Almost always. Many newer homes already have rough-in plumbing under the slab. If the fixtures sit below the sewer line, an ejector pump handles it.
We look at that first. Any sign of water gets addressed before a stud goes up, because finishing over a moisture problem is how you end up doing the job twice.
